Water is Life-DAPL is Death

It's been busy here this week. We got through the Thanksgiving gatherings with grateful hearts and full stomachs.
On Black Friday, my son and I stood with one other person outside a Wells Fargo bank, holding signs and raising awareness of what the Dakota Access pipeline dispute is about. Why Wells Fargo? Because it is one of numerous banks that have been funding "The Black Snake".
Lakota prophecy says "If the Black Snake crosses our land, our world will end."

So, I am putting a link here to more information about the  movement to defund DAPL. I encourage you to tell these banks "Dump DAPL-or I dump you!" If you wish to do more, there is plenty to be done in both North Dakota and Iowa. This battle is not over!

Welcome to My Couch | The Holderness Family

A friend sent me this video and I love it!
As a nation, can we set it all aside for just one day and be grateful for all we have?
Can we at least not argue? Ok-well, can we at least not punch each other?

With Love..Happy Thanksgiving!

P.S. Dear America, you are already great. Just remember what made you that way! And keep a sense of humor, huh?!

"The Only Courtesy Donald Trump Deserves" is a Must See!

Well, the election is over and here at The Lake, I'm just trying to get my head to stop spinning! As an unapologetic Monday morning quarterback, I can say that the DNC got it wrong and we knew they had it wrong months ago! The polls back then said that Hillary would lose and that Bernie would win against Donald Trump. So much for utilizing things like numbers. I guess that was too complex.

So here we are, looking at the prospect of mass deportations, the end of Obamacare, the end of protections for the LBGTQ community, the death of Roe. v. Wade and the end of regulations put in place to protect our health and well being from pollution of our air and water. That alone should scare the piss out of anyone. Add to that what deregulation will mean in terms of climate change and it's enough to make you want to just stick a gun in your mouth now and get it over with!

But we can't do that, folks. Especially here in the U.S., we cannot just sit and wait out the end. No, that's not us. Not deep down. We will still fight for the common good and for our children's futures.

Please watch the video here and subscribe to the Carbon Freeze channel. He's got some great things to say!

IOWA CCI Action Fund

The Dakota Access Pipeline is a threat to soil and water across eighteen counties in Iowa. A leak will impact millions of people along the Missouri and Mississippi Rivers. It is not a question of IF there will be a leak, but WHEN!

DAPL is already violating their agreement with the Iowa Utilities Board. They are ruining top soil, leaving scrap metal buried in farm fields, and have even hired private security personnel to attack and illegally detain water protectors.

Given this sort of behavior during the construction of the pipeline, how can DAPL be trusted to monitor and maintain the pipeline in the future?? They can't be, plain and simple.

Please sign and share this letter to the Iowa Utilities Board, asking them to halt construction until these violations are addressed.

Mean Wind

This is a great duet I want to share with you! Pigs and Clover does folk/hippy/protest kind of music that is just so much fun to listen to! I had the pleasure last week to see them in person again, at a little place called "Uptown Bill's Coffeehouse", in Iowa City. I will include a link below Uptown Bill's Coffeehouse so you can check it out yourself. Enjoy the music and have a wonderful day!
